Beauty Products

I absolutely love to find products that work and help me. And I know that not all products that work for me will work for you, but it helps if we share things, right?

I have watched Instagram stories and have read blogs from other people and I always try to try the things that they mention. Sometimes it’s an epic fail or it’s out of my price range, but here are some affordable beauty products that I am loving and enjoying everyday or almost everyday.

Impress Nails

Thanks to The Rambling Red Head I am loving these press on nails. Yeah, you heard me right...PRESS ON nails! Haha! Take me back to elementary school. But seriously, it’s nothing like those nails. These actually stay on very well and are prefect for people who can’t grow nails or can’t keep polish on... ME! ME! I’m terrible with my nails.

So, I have tried them 3 different times and the first time they stayed on 5 days and then I had to start replacing them. The next set stayed on 3 days, but I was pretty rough with them and did a lot...a lot of washing etc. This past week I did a new set and they stayed on for 4 days. It is recommended they stay on for no more than 7 days. I think these are a good option. I trim mine and keep them very short and they do well. They are $5.87 at Walmart and you can also get them at Target and online. Overall I have been impressed with Impress..haha! Definitely give them a try and just make sure you aren’t going to a pottery class like I was the first time I wore them... but they stayed on! That’s a good product in my book!

Wet Brush

I have the world’s worst tangles in my hair. The longer it gets, the worst the tangles are. Ugh! It’s annoying!!! However, the Wet Brush (the original) has been amazing. It is the perfect brush for my hair. It doesn’t damage your hair. It promises no pain! And it has been working for this mess of a head.

You can use it on wet hair, dry hair, and while drying your hair. I am loving it!! I purchased mine at T.J. Maxx for 5.99, but of course they have them online, at kohl’s, and Ulta. Honestly, it has changed the way I brush my hair. I now no longer cringe when I brush it.

SeneGence Facial Resurfacer

This stuff is amazing!!!! And makes your skin feel so so so good. I try to use it 1-2 times a week. And I can see a change in my skin. It doesn’t take a lot. A little goes a long ways and you don’t need to do it everyday.

It takes off your dead skin and gives you a glow.. it must be the volcanic ash in the product. Yeah! Volcanic ash! It’s one of my favorite products of Senegence and it just makes my face feel healthy and better. I love to use it and my kids make fun of me when I have it on call me swamp thing... I wonder where they got that from.... thanks hubby! It is $50 and has lasted me awhile. If you need a Senegence representative, I got you covered. My cousin!! She’s great! I definitely think this is a must for a product and you can’t go wrong with any of the Senegence products.

Secret Deodorant

Well, trying to find a deodorant has been a not so fun journey. I switched to Native Deodorant last spring and loved it up until Christmas when I started breaking out and having a reaction. I have super sensitive skin and I needed to find something with no baking soda. So, I researched and came across this one.

So far so good. No problem with itching! No rashes or blotches in my underarms. I don’t feel like I’m on fire there. It’s been a great change to make. It has no aluminum and is just a deodorant... so you do have to reapply if you are active. Overall, it has been the best decision for me and it’s $4.97!!!!

Let me know if you have any questions or comments about any of these products and give them a try. I love them and hope you do too!

Love and Prayers,

Shop Small

I love shopping! Who doesn’t, right? But I love supporting small businesses and helping the person behind the business. It’s so much fun to shop and go into shops and look and see unique pieces and products that each have.

In my area we have many, but I want to highlight 3 shops that are my top favs.

Finer Things for Her

This is a shop primarily for ladies hence the name, however, she also has things for babies and even men. It is owned by one of my best friends and her products are absolutely amazing. I have shopped here for many years and bought bathing suits, bras, baby outfits and pajamas, plus accessories.

I want to highlight one product that I bought a couple of months ago and they have recently been restocked.. Teleties! Have you heard of them? Well, if you haven’t run to Finer Things for Her and get you some. If you use hairbows for your hair then you need these. They are so much better for your hair and don’t create a crease when you put your hair up. They come in a pack of 3 for around $10. They have all kinds of beautiful colors and these are one of my go to products everyday because when I get home, the hair goes up or back to get it out of my face. Anyone else?

You can find them on Facebook or instagram and at the website and she also ships. So, if you are close and can stop by the shop you definitely need to stop in and browse and look at all the new inventory that is coming for spring and summer.

Robert and Jones

The perfect little shop that has all the home town charm. It is a shop that has you covered when you need a gift or something for yourself. I love to just pop in and see all the new items she has gotten and how she has it all displayed. I love to stop by and look for gifts for birthdays, baby showers, Mother’s Day..etc. I recently went and picked up the perfect necklace.

I have been eyeing bar necklaces for awhile but could never find the perfect one until the other day. I bought two, one for my mom and one for myself. They were reasonably priced around $10-$12 and are gorgeous. These necklaces look good layered, by themselves, and they all have different sayings. I chose Blessed and The Lord is my strength. These were perfect for my mom and I.

Stop and by and check out the new Inventory coming for spring and summer and why not pick out something for yourself or for someone special. Find the shop on Instagram and Facebook at Robert and Jones Gifts and at

Nestled downtown is Kingsport is a shop that has a variety. I guess that’s where it got its name. I stopped by for a minute last week while I waited on my food and found a lot of goodies in the shop. They have everything from baby to women’s accessories plus a lot of neat jewelry that caught my eye.

I had been wanting a new key ring and found the perfect one for me. They are called O-Venture Key rings and it can hold everything and is perfect for a mom who has her hands full all the time. It’s stylish, yet useful. That’s exactly what we look for in an accessory. It was $24 and so far I am loving it.

Variety has beautiful jewelry pieces to baby accessories and clothes. Along with unique accessories that can add to your everyday life. Oh, I also found an adorable bow for MJ’s Easter dress and it matches perfectly.

Check them out on instagram and Facebook at Variety Printing and Gifts.

Shop small and give back to your community and look at these shops if you get a chance. ❤️

Love and Prayers,

O-Venture Key Ring

Blessed bar necklace

Hair up with Teleties

I love trying new things, but it can be scary. New foods! New clothing trends and new cosmetics! New shoes or even being around new can be intimidating. Ladies try a lot of things and we usually just revert back to our old way because it’s known, easy, and comfortable.

I have sensitive skin and I have to be careful about a lot of products I use. I have used Dove sensitive body wash for FOREVER. I love it! But I wanted to try something better for my skin. I wanted to make a switch for more natural ingredients and I have two recommendations that I tried and one that I’m going to stick with.

The first brand I tried was Shea Moisture. I absolutely love their African Black Soap face wash and thought I would try the bar soap in their line. I got the coconut and hibiscus scented one. It smelled good and didn’t leave a strong scent on my body. It felt good on my skin and came off easy in the shower. However, with kids bar soap is not a good option for me. MJ would always grab and play with the soap and so it didn’t last longer than 2 weeks. It’s a good size bar and should have lasted longer, but she thought it was a toy. Shew!

I was actually going to get another one and saw the Raw Sugar body wash was buy one get one free. I had read about this brand and was intrigued. I read the bottle and decided I would switch it up again and try this product. I have to say I’m loving it. The smell, the way it feels, and it’s a body wash. I think I prefer that. I got the raw coconut and mango scent and it smells so good and is easy on my skin. And don’t be confused by the name it is not a sugar scrub. I mean they have those but the body wash is just like a typical wash.

Overall I was pleased with both and love both lines. I want to try more from the Raw Sugar brand because they have hand soaps, lip and body care, and also hair care products. And Shea Moisture does too. I will always use their face wash and lotions. Highly recommend!! You can’t go wrong with either.

Watch for sales!! Walgreens just has them buy one get one free and Target will do a gift sometimes if you buy over a certain amount on certain brands or items. And I can sometimes catch Shea Moisture in the clearance section at Walgreens...Keep your eye out! I will link these below.

They are both definitely worth trying especially if you are looking for a more natural soap or more natural products. I use Shea Moisture on my kids, along with some Young Living products, and have always been satisfied. You really just need to find the one that fits you and your skin. You can’t go wrong with either.

Love and Prayers,

Our Favorite Christmas Items/Gifts

It took me forever to clean and get Christmas put away, but I can officially say we have found a place for all new toys and clothes and the Christmas decorations are up and out of my sight. Yay!!!

We got amazing things for Christmas and I wanted to share some of the things that were my favorite for myself and the kids. I have included the link below each item listed in case you want to check them out.

I’ll start with things for me!

I got the softest pair of sweat pants ever. They are the Carrie Underwood brand, Calia, and you can purchase them at Dick’s Sporting Goods or at the website. They are comfy! They are a perfect fit! Vaughn got a size medium and typically I wear a large, but like I said these are a perfect fit and I want to run and get another pair asap. He did good!

•Purse and Card holder

My parents got me a new purse. Why? Well, for those moms out there that use the diaper bag as your purse...I feel you! I never thought I would see the day that I would get to carry a cute purse again. But the day has come. My parents got me a Michael Kors purse with a small card wallet that can attach to my keys. It’s amazing and perfect. The purse has two zippers and enough room to hold what I need to bring with me. I love the color and the two tone pattern. It is what I needed for my first purse back to reality. And the Tanger Outlets is where to go to getcha one!

My Brother and Sister in Law got us new bibles and The New City Catechism book, 52 questions and answers for our heart and mind. I was so excited about these things. I love my Bible. It is called ESV illuminated journaling bible. It’s beautiful and I can’t wait to begin journaling in it. The New City Catechism book is very informative and we also got the one for kids. The questions are relevant and the answers with scripture are solid truth. This is a great tool to have with you and in your home.

The last thing I want to share, that I received, with you is the Urban Decay Smokey Eye Palette. My in laws got this for me and I absolutely love it. The colors are beautiful and it goes on so well. And I amazed at the long lasting wear it has. I have become a SeneGence lover but the best thing about that is I can use that eyeshadow over top of my SeneGence products and it makes it last even longer. And that’s definitely what we want.

Now to the kids! Because that’s usually my focus.

•Picasso Tiles

Wade asked Santa for Magna Tiles...well Santa decided to get Picasso Tiles. 1. They were cheaper. 2. They had great reviews. 3. And they looked exactly the same. I read reviews on a bunch of different ones and decided on the Picasso Tiles. If you don’t know what these are they are tiles that comes in different shapes with magnets. Kids can use their imagination and build anything. I have watched Wade and MJ build towers, castles, garages, and houses. They really are a great toy and a great learning tool.

•Contigo Cups

They also got new cups for Christmas. I feel like we buy cups all the time. And I haven’t really found one that I’m just crazy about, but I absolutely love these Contigo Stainless steel cups. And I’m so glad I bought them at Kohl’s online Black Friday. They are sturdy! And are perfect for them to take to school for their water and it remain cold. They seem durable for toddlers and I’m impressed so far.

•Melissa and Doug Vanity Set

If you have a little girl who loves makeup, playing  dress up, and fixing hair...this is perfect. MJ will sit for 30 min, for a 2 year old, that’s a long time, and just play with this set. She will put on her makeup while I’m putting mine on and she fixes my hair and her barbies. It’s amazing how early they start coping and noticing things and she wants to get ready with her mama every day. And the good thing about this set is, it’s not heavy and it’s not big. It’s just right!

And last but not least.... DOLLYWOOD Season Passes. We can’t wait to make memories at Dollywood riding new rides and spending time together as a family. Wade is getting taller and he is able to ride more rides. He is going to be like his parents and want to ride all the roller coasters. I can’t wait for them to open back up!

So thankful for everything we got, the traditions we continued and started, and all the time we had with family. Even though we ended up with some kind of virus the day after Christmas, and had to miss being with my mom’s family, it all worked out. That’s just the way it goes sometimes.

Check out these amazing products and give them a try. We are enjoying everything we received and have donated a lot to local clothes closets.

Wade and MJ both did good selecting things they no longer needed for other kids to have. I thought there would be lots of screaming and tears, but it was easy breezy. Hopefully they won’t ask about the stuff I stuffed in the bag without them seeing... haha! Oh well!

Love and Prayers,

2 TBSP Olive Oil

1 fresh lime squeezed

1/2 TBSP Balsamic Vinegar

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp salt

1 tsp sugar

Drain and rinse the cans of beans. While draining the beans, prepare the veggies by dicing them. Chop the cilantro into pieces and place all the items in a bowl. Add cheese!

Make the dressing by adding all the ingredients together and whisk. After whisking, pour the dressing over the other ingredients and allow to sit in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. You can eat immediately, but it is better chilled.

We’ve had an appetizer now it’s time for the main course, Mexican Stuffed Peppers! If you love Mexican and peppers you’re going to love these. Everything just goes together and tastes amazing.

Mexican Stuffed Peppers

4 large Red or Green ( or both) Bell Peppers

1 pound Lean Ground Beef, Chicken, or Turkey

2 cups Cooked Rice

1/2 cup Frozen Corn or canned

10 oz Canned Black Beans

1 Cup of Salsa

1 TBSP Taco Seasoning

2 cups Mexican Cheese

Prepare meat in a skillet. In a bowl combine rice, corn, beans, cheese (1 cup), salsa, and the seasoning. Add meat to the mixture. Stir till combined.

Wash and cut peppers and half them and then cut them into fourths . Place them skin down in a baking dish and spoon in the mixture. Add cheese to the top.

Bake for 30 minutes at 350.

Have left over freezes well! And remember if you don’t do meat add more beans, and some avocado. Make it your own.

Now after dinner you always want something....SWEET! Right? Have you searched for the perfect chocolate chip cookie? Do you wish you had a recipe that made chewy, soft, amazing cookies? Well, look no farther. Stop what you’re doing and get in the kitchen and start up the mixer. This recipe is the best by far.

And this recipe was found on Pinterest and then I changed a few things.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 egg (beat egg a little before adding)

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups all purpose flour

2 tsp cornstarch

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup semi sweet chocolate chunks/chips or bittersweet chocolate chips/chunks

Preheat oven to 350.

In a stand mixer add softened butter and sugars. Cream together till light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla.

In a separate bowl mix together flour, cornstarch, salt, and baking soda. Pour into mixer and mix together until fully incorporated. Add the chocolate chips and mix well.

Get a medium cookie scoop and scoop onto a cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes! You want to keep an eye on them. They will get golden on the edges but not on top. That’s what you want.

Do not cook longer than 10 minutes!! Place on a wire rack for 10 min and then enjoy with of course a big cup of milk.

And that’s a wrap on The 12 Days of Christmas Recipes. I hope you have enjoyed it and have some recipes to add to your cooking.

I love to cook and find enjoyment in baking... it’s my stress reliever. So, get in the kitchen and experiment with food. It can be some much fun.

Merry Christmas!

Be on the lookout for more of my favorite things after Christmas and of course more blog posts.

Much Love and Prayers,

Twice Baked Potatoes Day 11 of The 12 Days of Christmas

This has went by so fast, but I have two amazing recipes left to share. Hope you enjoy!

Do you love potatoes? Gosh! Literally anyway for me. Mashed, cubed, baked, fried, name it. I love them!! And I have a recipe you are going to absolutely love.

It comes from the Pioneer Woman and you’re already thinking...oh that’s going to be good. It is! Twice Baked Potatoes people... on the 11th Day of Christmas I give you a staple recipe that so many people LOVE. Everyone can pause for a minute. Haha!

These potatoes are amazing and so good. You have to have 2 or maybe 3. So creamy and tasty. Worth the mess and clean up after. And you’ll make them a lot more than you think.

Here’s the recipe!

Twice Baked Potatoes

8 Large Baking Potatoes (washed)

3TBSP Canola Oil

2 Sticks Butter (yeah it’s a lot)

1 cup of sour cream

1 cup bacon bits ( fry your own or buy the packs) 1 cup of cheddar jack cheese. Plus a little extra for the topping

1/2 cup whole milk

3 TBSP seasoned salt

3 Green Onions sliced

Preheat oven to 400. Coat the potatoes in canola oil and Bake them for an hour. Check to make sure they are cooked and done. (Do not wrap in aluminum foil)

Slice the butter into small cubes and add sour cream, bacon bits and add all to a bowl. Take potatoes out and let cool for 5 min. Then slice them long ways and then scarp all the potato filling. Be careful not to rip the potato skin. It’s easy to do! You will want a nice hollowed out potato skin.

Add the potatoes to the bowl of butter and sour cream. Start smashing the potatoes and the mixture and then add the milk, cheese, seasoning salt, pepper, and green onions.

After it has all been mashed and looks incorporated start spooning in the mashed mixture into the hollowed put shells. You will want them to be heaping. Top with some grated cheese and bake them again at 350 for 15-20 minutes.

These are the BEST side dish. With steak, salad, chicken, or fish. They just pair really well. They are fairly simple the more you make them. And always are a home run if you are making them for a crowd or even your small family.

Enjoy these together with your family this Christmas and make and take them to a gathering. Kids and adults love them and they go great on the go.  They are so pretty and also so delicious.

Love and Prayers,

Chicken Casseroles Day 10 of The 12 Days of Christmas Recipes

On the 10th Day of Christmas I’m giving to you....2 Chicken Casserole dishes that are my absolute favorite. There are comfort food at its finest and smell heavenly. And the good thing about these can eat them by themselves or with a veggie and that’s it. Supper is done!

Chicken casserole has always been a staple in our family. My mom is an amazing cook...she learned from my mamaw...which again is an amazing cook. And I’m learning from them and have learned from them. I’m not amazing, but I love the recipes that have been passed down.

The first chicken casserole is a poppy seed one. It’s creamy inside and crunchy on top. It’s what dreams are made of.

Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole

1 rotisserie chicken or 3 cups of boneless/skinless chicken cooked

3/4 cup sour cream (you can substitute light sour cream)

1 can of cream of chicken soup

1 sleeve of Ritz crackers (crumbled)

2 TBSP butter (melted)

1 TBSP poppy seed

Spray an 8x8 pan with cooking spray and set aside. Cook chicken is needed or shred the rotisserie chicken.

Mix the chicken, sour cream, chicken soup, and poppy seeds. Spread into the pan.

Mix the crumbled crackers and butter and then place on the top of the casserole.

Bake for 25 minutes at 375 or until bubbly.

It’s so good and super yummy. You’ll make it often and people will ask for it.

This next recipe comes from a cookbook my Aunt Linda gave me at my wedding shower. Such a precious gift and the whole cookbook has been used many, many times.

Chicken Casserole

4 chicken breasts

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 can cream of celery soup

2 cups chicken broth

1 onion finely chopped

4 stalks of celery finely chopped

Salt and pepper as needed

1 8 oz package Pepperidge farm herb stuffing mix

Cook chicken in a pressure cooker till tender. Reserve 2 cups of chicken broth and put aside or use chicken broth from the store.

Tear chicken apart and place in the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.

Mix soups, onion, celery and salt pepper and pour over chicken. Mix chicken broth and stuffing mix and then pour on top of the mixture.

Bake in a 350 oven for 45 minutes. It will be bubbly and golden on top.

Both recipes are so good and each one I like at different times. The first one is good in the summer time and the second on I usually prefer during the winter months. Either one you can’t go wrong with.

I hope you can make one of these over the holiday season. Just double the recipes or even triple if you need to feed a lot of people.

Enjoy cooking! And enjoy making recipes that have been passed down.

Love and Prayers,

Lasagna Soup- Day 9 of The 12 Days of Christmas Recipes

So, on the 9th Day of Christmas Recipes I give to you a soup recipe that is yummy. I bet you will want to make it again after you make it the first time. So, if you like lasagna you’re going to love lasagna soup. I promise!! Sounds a little weird, I know! But trust me!

I just love them this time of year. I really could eat soups anytime. They’re just so yummy. They make you feel cozy too. This soup recipe is comforting and delicious. I found it on Pinterest after having MJ. So, wanna try. Here’s the recipe.

Lasagna Soup

* 1 pound lean ground beef

* 1 yellow onion, diced

* 4-5 garlic cloves, minced

* 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

* 1 24 oz. jar Prego Traditional Italian Sauce

* 8-10 cups low sodium chicken broth (divided)

*1 14 oz. can can crushed tomatoes

* 2 tablespoons tomato paste

* 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar

* 1 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar

* 1 tablespoon dried basil

* 1 tsp EACH dried parsley, dried oregano, salt

* 1/2 teaspoon pepper

* 1 whole bay leaf

* 10 uncooked lasagna noodles broken into approx. 1-2 inch pieces

* * 1/2 cup heavy cream,optional**

Cheese Garnish ( use any of these)

*shredded mozzarella cheese

* freshly finely grated Parmesan cheese

* ricotta cheese

Heat a large soup pot over medium high heat. Add beef and onion and cook, stirring occasionally until beef is browned. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and saute for 30 seconds. Drain off any excess fat.

Add Prego Sauce, 6 cups chicken broth, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, balsamic vinegar, sugar, spices and lasagna noodles. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer until lasagna noodles are tender, stirring occasionally (approximately 20-30 minutes).

Discard bay leaf and stir in heavy cream (optional) and 2-4 cups chicken broth to reach desired consistency. Garnish individual servings with desired amount of cheeses.

Also, if you don’t want to use the heavy cream, use cornstarch (2 tbsp) mixed with some chicken broth will help the soup to thicken as well.

And you can also use any noodle that you have in your cabinet. Whatever you prefer..use it!

You can also make it in your crockpot. You just need to brown the meat and onions first and then add all the other ingredients to the pot. You could cook on low for 3-4 hours and then check the noodles.

Its so good! I hope you get the opportunity to try it and enjoy it as much as we do. And the best part about soups... they freeze well!!! Yes!

Tomorrow, I have some more casseroles coming your way. And these are staples in my house....chicken casseroles! 2 different ones!!

Love and Prayers,

Chocolate Chip Pie- Day 8 of The 12 Days of Christmas Recipes

I am a sweet loving girl. I get it from my daddy. Like I have said before...I love chocolate and chocolate chip anything is just amazing. So, today on the 8th day of Christmas I’m going to share with you a classic....chocolate chip pie.

This pie is amazing! It’s rich! And one small piece is probably enough for the sweet tooth, but it’s one of my favs. When you bite into have the crackly crust on top, the gooey cookie center, and then the soft crust. So Yummy! It will probably become a staple at your holiday gatherings..just saying!

And I believe it can be found on the back of The Tollhouse chocolate chip bag...FYI!

Chocolate Chip Pie

1 9 inch deep dish pie shell (unbaked)

2 eggs

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup light brown sugar

3/4 cup butter softened to room temperature (1 1/2 sticks)

1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

1 cup walnuts

**whipped topping or vanilla ice cream optional

I also add 1 tsp of vanilla (I like the taste it adds)

Preheat the oven to 325. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs till foamy. Then add sugars and flour and beat in till incorporated. Then add butter. Stir in chocolate chip and walnuts. Bake for 55 minutes and use a cake tester to check the middle to see it is done. Cool and then enjoy!

Now, I don’t always add walnuts to mine...I add extra chocolate chips a lot of times....yeah! So, remember you can add or take away. And make it your own. You can even add a different nut if you prefer or no nuts at all.

This pie is one that I remember making at my aunt’s house and her letting us make it. It’s simple to remember and so good.

Make cooking something that your family does together. Include your kids and your husband. Make memories. I hope this pie can become a tradition in your home. And you can create memories like I have with it.

Love and Prayers,

Homemade Macaroni and Cheese - Day 7 of The 12 Days of Christmas Recipes

On the 7th day of Christmas I will give to you....Homemade Macaroni and Cheese Recipes. I have two that are my favorite and so delicious that I’m sharing both.

Every kid and even adults love a good bowl of macaroni and cheese. And it goes so well with all our southern recipes of fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes...I’m making myself hungry! Haha! Anyways, let’s talk Recipes because these two are perfect for dinner and they are always a crowd pleaser.

I have a stove top recipe and a crockpot recipe and both are full of yumminess. So, here ya go!

Homemade Macaroni and Cheese

1- 16 oz box of elbow macaroni

1 block of velvetta cheese ( you’ll use a little over half or maybe a little more)

2 tablespoons of butter

1 cup- 1 1/2 cups of whole milk (you can also use 1/2 cup of evaporated milk and then add whole milk also. Start with a cup of milk total and see if you need more.

Salt and pepper

Get your water boiling at a rapid boil and add a lot of salt. You want the water to be salty. I would add a whole palm full of salt in. Weird I know, but trust me. Boil your noodles. Drain them and sit them aside. In the same pot add your butter, milk, and cheese and begin to get it all melted together. Add noodles. Make adjustments as needed. More milk or cheese. Then add salt and pepper.

And you always have to taste test... It should be creamy and delicious.

And need to make smaller portions...cut the recipe in half. Simple!

Crockpot Macaroni and Cheese

1 16 oz box of elbow macaroni or macaroni of your choice

2 1/2 cups milk

12 oz can of evaporated milk

1 block of cream cheese

3 cups of cheddar cheese shredded

Salt and pepper (taste and add)

Place all in crockpot and place on low to cook for 3-4 hours. You will need to stir this a couple of times. You are looking for the pasta to be cooked and all the ingredients to be incorporated together.

And that’s it!!

The good thing about these dishes are that they go with almost anything and you can even serve them with multiple meals. And they freeze well too!

And leave some Hard noodles for the kids for projects. Do some noodle art or rather allow them too. Mine love to glue pasta and make things. It’s a distraction while I’m cooking, plus a learning and creative thing for them. I mea, I find pasta for weeks in places. Haha! But they have fun!

Love and Prayers,

Breakfast Casseroles Day 6 of The 12 Days of Christmas Recipes

Need an easy breakfast idea for this week or Christmas Day? I have the perfect casseroles for you and on the 6th Day of Christmas Recipes I’m giving you two because, why not!

Casseroles are a great way to feed a bunch of people and they’re easy to make. And at Christmas time we need something easy, yummy, and filling. And sometimes you need a sweet casserole for a little something today we have a breakfast casserole and a crockpot cinnamon roll casserole.

You’re going to think I’m crazy, but I don’t really like cinnamon rolls, but I love the way they smell. And I’m not a huge fan of egg. I did eat an omelette for the first time in my life last I’m getting there. But here are two easy recipes for you to use this Christmas and make your families mouths water and tummies be full and happy.

Breakfast Casserole

1 roll of crescent rolls

1 pound of sausage (we always buy hot sausage) 6 eggs

1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese

1/4 cup milk

1 tsp Salt and pepper each ( more if needed)

Press the crescent rolls firmly in a greased 9x13 baking dish. Cook sausage till no longer pink Beat eggs with milk and add salt and pepper Pour eggs over crescent rolls and add sausage. Sprinkle cheese over top and bake for 20-30 minutes or until eggs are cooked and it has a Golden look.

Cut and serve with fruit or toast.

My family loves this and you can also go wild and add all the meats..bacon, ham, and sausage. Green and red peppers, onion, mushrooms...Remember make it how you like it and enjoy it.

Stuffed Shells- Day 5 of The 12 Days of Christmas Recipes

Pasta! Is such a good friend, right? It comforts you and makes you feel better. And when you find a recipe that is share it!

Before Wade was born I found a recipe for stuffed shells. I tried it, liked it, modified it, and realized the other day I haven’t made it in forever.... BUT, I feel it will be on the menu in the new year a lot.

So, here you go...on the 5th day of Christmas I give to you...Stuffed Shells!!

1 cup muenster cheese

1/2 cup Asiago cheese

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (Not shredded)

15 oz ricotta cheese

1/2-1 cup of mozzarella for the top

1 tsp salt and pepper (each)

1/2 cup of fresh parsley

1 jar of your favorite sauce—I love any four cheese or tomato basil.

1- 12 oz box of jumbo pasta shells

Cook pasta shells in boiling water until they are cooked to your liking. Allow them cool In a drainer while you prepare the stuffing.

Mix all the cheeses together and salt and pepper. Add in the parsley. Grab a spoon and spoon in the cheese mixture into each shell.

After you have filled all the shells. Cover with your choice of sauce and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top.

* Don’t put the cheese stuffing side down on the pan. Make sure it’s on top. Covered in sauce and cheese.

Bake for 30-35 minutes until melted and bubbly.

You can always add spinach or meat. I usually try to sneak in spinach and will add a cup of cooked spinach and it makes it even better. Just make sure to press all the water out!

I always serve with a simple salad and breadsticks. Even my picky child Wade likes these and they are really simple and are great for leftovers. Maybe even better. I think pasta dishes are though.

Add this recipe to your menu. You can even make it for Christmas Dinner. I promise it’s yummy and perfect for all the people who love cheese. And for those that don’t...Well, sorry!  This isn’t the recipe for you. Haha!

Love and Prayers,

Chicken Cheese Dip Day 4 of The 12 Days of Christmas Recipes

On the 4th Day of Christmas Recipes I want to give to you, another appetizer...sooooo

Do you love buffalo chicken?

What about ranch and cheese?

Yes, please!!!!

Well I have an appetizer recipe that will be right up your alley. I got this from a friend and her family and it’s so good. People will want you to give them the recipe on the spot and it’s so easy you’ll be able to do so.

Chicken Cheese Dip

2-3 cans of canned all white meat chicken ( 2 big ones or 3 small ones

1 block or cream cheese softened

1 small bottle of ranch dressing

1/4-3/4 cup of Frank’s hot sauce (you pick how hot) I usually do 1/2 cup and add a couple extra shakes

1 1/2 cups- 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

Drain chicken and mush with fork to break apart. Put in cream cheese, ranch, and hot sauce and mix together until everything is incorporated. Spread into a casserole dish and bake for 20 minutes or until bubbly. Sprinkle on cheese and bake for 10 more minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Yum!

We always serve it with Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos, but tortilla chips are awesome as well.

You can add less hot sauce or more depending on how your family likes it. And you can also do shredded cooked chicken instead of canned. I personally like it better with canned chicken and I don’t say that for a lot of things, but for can’t even tell. Also, I have tried other cheese, but cheddar is my favorite on top. But you make it however you like it. That’s the fun of cooking. You can personalize it to your liking and your taste.

I hope you enjoy this recipe and can make it this Christmas for yourself or your family.

Tomorrow, I have a pasta dish that is so yummy...stuffed shells of cheesy goodness. Well, just stuffed shells, but they are good.

Love and Prayers,

Cheese Ball Day 3 of The 12 Days of Recipes

I think by far my favorite appetizer would have to be a cheese ball. And I have tried many different ones, but this one that I’m going to share is by far my favorite. My momma’s cheese ball recipe is simple, good, and a crowd favorite. It’s a classic for our family at get togethers. Whether it be Christmas, spring time, summer cookout, or just family time. This cheeseball recipe is perfect and so good.

You will need:

2 packages of cream cheese. (Set it out and let it soften)

1/2 cup green pepper chopped into small tiny pieces

1/4 cup onion chopped into tiny pieces

1 -8 oz can of crushed pineapple, drained

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon of seasoning salt

1/3 chopped pecans to add in cheeseball

3/4 - 1 cup of chopped pecan pieces (outside)

Put cream cheese in a bowl and add veggies, drained pineapple, cheddar cheese, seasoning salt, and the chopped pecans. Stir and make into a ball. If you have time, wrap it up in saran wrap and refrigerate for an hour. Then take out and roll into pecans. Coating the entire ball with pecans. If you don’t have time to refrigerate just roll into a ball and roll over the pecans and refrigerate. Just don’t push too hard when rolling. You don’t want your pecans to be smushed inside.

You will want to wrap it tightly and let it stay in there 1-2 hours so it can become firm and ready to eat with your choice of crackers.

We usually serve this with a cheese and pickle tray and crackers on the side. And we sit and munch and talk and munch and talk till we have to tell ourselves to STOP! Literally we all say....We must stop eating. Haha!

Now, feel free to add more peppers (red and orange) and more cheese or a different kind or none at all. Maybe some bacon. But honestly it’s a great cheese ball just like it is.

I’m telling you it’s so good. And addicting! One cracker won’t be enough. So prepare yourself now!

I’ve got another appetizer coming up tomorrow and you will love it just as much.

Love and Prayers,

Peanut Butter Pie Day 2 of The 12 Days of Recipes

So let’s talk dessert for a minute.

Y’all I’m a chocolate loving, icing devourer, and an overall lover of sweets. I mean I’m a chocolate chip cookie fan..the ones that aren’t quite done and are little mouth is watering. Haha!

Anyways, this has been a hard month and a couple of days of limiting my sugar and no sweet stuff, but it is paying off. But boy, don’t I want a cookie or this pie I’m going to tell you about.

Day 2 of The 12 Recipes of Christmas...Peanut Butter Pie!!!

This! This is my favorite pie to make because it’s simple, easy, and oh my gosh! So, so good!

Here’s what you need:

1 jar of crunchy or creamy peanut butter (you are going to use 1/2 the jar)

1 container of cool whip

1 carton of vanilla bean ice cream (you will use 1/2 the carton)

1 graham cracker or Oreo crumb pie crust

optional-chocolate syrup for topping or chocolate shavings to put on pie pieces, Carmel...I mean Whatever you got you can add!

Stir the peanut butter, ice cream and cool whip together and put it in the pie shell.

Yep! That’s it...Well you have to freeze it. But, I’m telling you! It’s the best thing!

You can even make two if you want to try both shells. Just get a large container or two small containers of Cool whip and viola....pies!

And if you don’t like peanuts or you are allergic. Almond butter is a great substitute and I’m sure Nutella would be uhhhhmazzzing! I would let it freeze for a couple of hours and then take it out and cut it into pieces.

Seriously! It tastes like a dream. I love it with the crunchy peanut butter because it gives it some texture. And adds a little extra peanut flavor. Yum!!!!

So, if you are needing a new pie recipe or just wanting to try something different. Take this to a family gathering and wow them with your skills. They will never have to know it was 4 ingredients!!! Which is crazy! But I’m telling’ll probably have to bring it every time.

Love and Prayers,

Vegetable Beef Soup- Day 1 of 12 Days of Christmas

Cooking! Baking! It’s really something I enjoy. What I don’t enjoy...cleanup! I can make a mean mess...and the old saying goes a good cook makes a mess in the kitchen. Right? Haha!

I wanted to share with you some recipes that are my favorite this time of year and some of our staples in the McConnell household. I’m calling this the 12 recipes of Christmas. Yum!!!!

Let’s start with a soup:

We love a beef vegetable soup. It is so simple and good and did I mention easy to make.

1 pound lean ground beef

1 large can of tomato soup

1 container of beef broth

1 onion chopped

1 bag of frozen green beans

1 bag of frozen corn

1 bag of frozen peas (you can also buy the bag of mixed vegetables)

3-4 large carrots sliced into small pieces

3 large potatoes cut into small pieces

2 garlic cloves

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

1-2 tablespoons of Frank’s hot sauce

Now, start with olive oil in your pot and then add onion and garlic. They should be translucent in color. Add your beef and cook till brown. Then add your carrots and potatoes. Cook for about 5 minutes Then add beef broth and tomato soup. Let this simmer for 10 minutes and then add all your frozen veggies. Cook for 20-30 minutes or until carrots and potatoes are tender. Add hot sauce at the end. Season as you like! Yum yum!

Vaughn and I love this recipe. For one I’m not a huge tomato fan. So, this gives just enough of a hint of tomato, but not chunks. You can also leave the beef out,and the beef broth, and add vegetable broth. You can modify anything and make it your own.

Be creative in the kitchen and enjoy cooking!

On the menu of our favorite desserts and a recipe I got from my Aunt Barbara....peanut butter pie! It’s so simple you’ll take it to everything.

Love and Prayers!

Stitch Fix

Do you like clothes, shoes, purses, and jewelry? Don’t you wish you had a personal shopper? Well, let me tell you about my little friend, Stitch Fix.

I learned about this company in the summer and had heard about it before. I seen the ads on Facebook and thought that’s neat but never tried it. My mom kept telling need to try this your aunt loves it and I think you will too. So, I finally caved and my first stitch fix box came. And woah! I was shocked! Why? Because..

1.The stylist nailed it and it was all things I would wear and loved.

2. The clothes and accessories were so well made. 3. I didn’t have to go out and shop.

Now I did have to try it on once receiving, but it all fit so well. I decided to do another stitch fix order and set my frequency to receive them every 2 months. I just got my box in the mail today and I’m again in awe of what my box contained.

I received two sweaters, a long sleeved shirt, a reversible vest, and a pair of gray/black jeans. So cute and all these things are super soft and fit so well.

Here’s how it works and how you can get yourself a stitch fix box. You go to and you will get $25 off your first box. Once you go to the website you will fill out a style profile and this is where they will learn your style, size and you will be able to tell them about yourself. Be very specific and be truthful about size...I know! That’s hard! Haha! But honestly, it helps them to know how to choose items and make sure they send a good fit. You will also put what you want to spend in your style profile. They have a scale that you can chose your price for each item.

If you choose to keep all your items you get a discount of 25%...yay! You can send back whatever you don’t like or send it all back. But you won’t receive the discounted price. Boo! I know, but that’s just the way it goes.

If yourm interested and want to learn more click on the link above and try it out or read more about it. They have something for every size and even kids. You can even ask for Gift Cards for Christmas or this can be your Christmas present. Eeekkk! I’m telling you that you won’t be disappointed if you give it a try. And like everything you can cancel or switch up frequency for boxes anytime.

So, what are you waiting for! Below is the link again and some pictures! Enjoy!!

Love and Prayers,

Learning Activities for Kids

My kids love projects and love to create things. Well, MJ loves to rip them apart. Haha! I do a lot projects them, but sometimes it’s good to have a little help or something new.

Wade is at the age to where he wants to read so bad and is learning new stuff everyday. It excites him and me. I love to see my kids learning and I have two products I want to share about. One is an app and the other is a project box that can come monthly. Both are great tools to add to your house to promote learning but in a fun way.

Homer is an app that I purchased for my kids. Wade spends 10-20 minutes on this daily. Some days he doesn’t get to do it, but we try our best to put time in on it because it is so so good. This app is for ages 2-8 and starts your child out where they are. It gives them a level and they begin to build each time they work. Right now Wade is working on letters, sounds, and matching different words to pictures. When the level is complete he gets to have some fun and draw or create something. It is educational, but tons of fun. MJ also uses this app. She works on shapes, colors, and letters.

Overall, I have been so pleased with this purchase. You can purchase it in the App Store for $7.99 a month and your kids can use it everyday. I believe you get a 30 day free trial. So, go check it out and watch your kiddos learn and grow. I love anything that promotes learning while the child thinks it’s fun. Sneak it in!!

Next is Kiwi Company boxed projects. I did an Instagram story on Tuesday that showed these projects and I can’t speak highly enough about them. I’m amazed at how well these projects are made and how everything you need is included. It was awesome to sit down and not have to run and get glue, an extra piece of something or not have it and not be able to do it. My kids had the best time and are still playing with these projects.

These projects include STEAM which is science, technology, engineering, art, and math. It is hard to find projects for my kids at ages 2 and 4 that have all these in one box. But Kiwi Company has made it simple and easy. They are hands on projects that your kids will love. They are for ages 0-16 and come personalized just for your child’s age. Here is what my kids got! MJ got a doctor box and was able to play doctor on her baby. It came with a chart, stethoscope, a thermometer, doctor bag with stickers, an otoscope, bandaids, and a book. She has played with her babies and brother and pretended to be a doctor. It’s super cute!

Wade’s box was about farming and barn animals. He got to create the barn and then make vegetables to plant. He then made his finger puppets for his barn and then we read and did his little magazine activities.

You can get a monthly subscription for $19.95, but this month they are giving you a free month if you use my link and all you have to pay is $4.95 shipping in the USA and outside the USA is $9.95. Here is the link:

I hope you will check out these awesome products and give them a try. I know my kiddos have loved these, so I want to share the love. Anytime something works us mommy’s need to share.

Love and Prayers,

Summer is now gone and my book reading will come to an end. I will start books, but probably never finish till next summer. I usually only get to read while my kids sleep or when traveling. And since my kids sleep with us...well it’s difficult. This summer I was able to get back into reading books...actual books! The smell of a new book. The way it feels. An actual book, not a kindle or an iPad...A BOOK! I love to read!! And it was wonderful to have time to read and be like college Holly again. Reading without a care in the world until you toddlers wake up.. oh well!

Early this summer I was able to finish Lysa Terkeurst’s, The Best Yes! I found myself highlighting and underlining sentences in that book and making my way through chapters with my mouth open and my eyes wide. I used to be a person that would say Yes all the time when people would ask me to do something or to help them out. Now, it’s not wrong to say yes, but we can’t say yes to everything. We get bogged down and weighed down by all the requests and then what’s left. It’s not good! We’re aggravted, upset, and discouraged. When you say no...that might lead to your best yes! It was a total eye opener and I encorage you to read this book and get your life in a place where you feel God has led you and it’s not just a Yes game, but your best yes life!

Another book that I finished while on my way to New York was Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis. Now, I had seen so many people reference or talk about this book and honestly I had never heard of the lady and was wondering what all the fuss was about. So, I ordered it. And let me tell you. She hits the nail right on the head about life. It’s hard! She’s honest about relationships, anxiety, motherhood, jobs, and the best part is she just lays it all out. Especially as women we believe we have to be a certain way. We have to parent a certain way, we have to keep it together, dress a certain way, be a certain size, and you know what...that’s totally a lie. Be YOU! And rock it! This book was great motivation for me and for what God is using this blog for. I am totally out of my comfort zone, but God! He knows better than me and calls me to do things much bigger than myself. So, I might not be the best mom some days or a size 2,4,6,8...I’m a 12, okay!! And he loves me just the way I am. And I am doing my best to be more confident, open, and ready for what he has for me next.

The next book I want to suggest is Wife after God. Now, this book is a daily devotional. A 30 day Devotional and there is actually a Husband after God as well. It is by Jennifer Smith. I’m going to be honest, my focus can sometimes derail and stay on my kids. And that’s where in Rachel’s book I realized how much emphasis I put on them and how God comes first and then my marriage to Vaughn, kids, etc. This devotional has shown me each day the importance through scripture and prayer on how to pray for Vaughn and myself. But also for me to understand my part of our relationship and for me to pray for Vaughn’s role. Marriage is not easy and takes work. And I encourage married couples to take time together to be in the word and do bible studies or read the bible together. This is a goal I have for Vaughn and I. You are one and joined together. Grow together! Pray together! Worship together! Do LIFE together!

I will link all these books below but I also want to encourage you to get your eyes in the Bible, God’s word. Each day! Even if it’s one verse or a chapter.

His word is full of truth and life.

16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 ESV

Be equipped with knowledge through God.

And I fully Believe that God works through people and gives them words to share. I feel he speaks to individuals and allows them to share his word and give to his people. We have a huge opportunity and just like these ladies above who shared their story and wrote books, we have a story to tell. Share it and give God the glory! Amen!

Love and Prayers,

The Bible...If you need one send me an email! I would love to give you God’s word! 😘

Native Deodorant

So, let’s get personal for a minute. Well, I’m going to get personal for a minute. Haha! Personal hygiene! We all like to smell good and look good. We take care of ourselves the best we can. And there are so many products out there it can be confusing. Some people say products are toxic so don’t use them, buy organic or natural. Others say it’s cheap and I got a coupon so I’m buying it. Haha! It doesn’t matter what you prefer or use. If you are comfortable with it then do it. Just do you! Use the products that make you feel good and that you are comfortable with personally and financially.

So let’s talk deodorant. So, I used my Dove deodorant for years...years! And around spring time I began to start burning under my armpits. Yeah! This is TMI..I know!  But as I reserached and discovered that my body was having a reaction I was in shock. And plus let’s all just promise not to google stuff.  Gosh! I promise, it will lead you down the road to a bad diagnosis or death. Geez! Thanks google! Anyways, since I was having problems and then started to have more I became concerned and decided to try something new. I looked at many different types. I searched for ones that didn’t have strong smells, I get migraines, and tried some of the ones in stores. Secret, no! Toms didn’t work, Schmidt’s...ummm nope! Then I ordered a brand off a website that I had saw advertised on Facebook. It was probably advertised on Facebook because of my searches. So strange! Anyways I got my order and began to use it. I had to give time for my body to detox and noticed in two weeks I wasn’t burning or itching anymore. Crazy! But, I did have to re apply in the evening, especially if I was going somewhere or working out because well, I was stinky...Haha!

The brand is called, Native. It is a natural, nontoxic deodorant.  My husband calls it Cherokee or Dirt. Yes! He says I’m rubbing earth in my arm pits. Lol! Oh well, it is working for me. I have enjoyed the smell of coconut and vanilla and just ordered another container and it just shipped. They have different scents and are priced around $10. They have men’s and women’s. You can subscribe and receive the deodorant as often as you like. Overall, I have loved it. Now, I will say...If you are going to be really active then you must apply a little extra. Take my words on this!!

So if you are having trouble with deodorants or just want to give it a try. I suggest you give Native a try. Here is the link

I hope you enjoy it!! You never know, till you try.

Love and Prayers,

TUAC- Consignment Sale

Do you have kids? Do they grow like crazy? And do they take growth spurts right after you buy new clothes, shoes, etc? I know!!! I’m right there with you. Problem solved! What am I talking about?...TUAC!

I have learned some good things in my 4.5 years of parenting and shopping and selling at consignment sales is one of them.

I love a good consignment sale and my favorite in my area is TUAC, Tri-Cities Upscale Affordable Consignment. It all started one day in the spring of 2014. I went with one of my friends to my very first sale. I waited in a very, very long line because I was new to this whole gig. I had no idea that you could consign or even volunteer to shop early. No clue! But even though I had to wait in the long line I still found amazing deals and found out that this was for me. I couldn’t believe the deals I got and how cute Wade would look.

I have since then consigned,or volunteered and consigned, and let me tell you....It’s the way to go!! You get to shop early and not have long lines. You get first picks at all the things and honestly it’s worth it. You get to look at everything and if you volunteer before the sale you can see all the things that come through. And volunteering is so much fun. You’re definitely not bored. Your busy the whole time sorting, checking, or whatever else is needed. If you’re able and can make it work, volunteering is a great way to shop early.

If you choose to consign, which allows you to clean out your closets and toy boxes, then you have the chance to make some you don’t have to feel guilty when you buy stuff. Anybody else have buyers remorse?? Mostly I do with just myself... not my kids of course. Haha! But, I have made over $350 from just one sale. And the rest of my stuff I can choose to donate or pick back up that don’t sale. It’s so simple and easy!

So, this coming week if you are wanting to venture out and check out a sale come on down to TNT sportsplex. You won’t be sorry! They still have one more day of drop off and there’s already so much good stuff I can’t wait to see it on a Tuesday when I shop. Eeeekkk!!

Seriously though, check out this week. They open to the public on Thursday at 9:00 am- 6:00 pm. And take a look at their Facebook page (Tri-Cities Upscale Affroable Consignment) and Instagram @tuackids...Hope to see you there!

Love and Prayers,

Piggy Paint

Little girls!! Little girls can be so much fun. MJ is a pocket book, baby, and finger nail polish kind of girl. It’s crazy how they watch and mimic things and people. She takes good care of her baby..well sometimes haha! Over the past couple of months she has wanted her toe nails and finger nails painted. She saw me one day painting mine and she immediately said me! I wasn’t sure because she puts her feet in her mouth and well her fingers in her mouth when she eats so I was concerned about her swallowing the polish. I know! But, it was a concern... but now I feel better, why? Piggy Paint!

Piggy Paint is a brand for kids that is non toxic polish. Their slogan is “Natural as Mud”. Hahaha! Today, we painted MJ’s toes and nails and the polish didn’t have a strong smell. The base coat was shiny and applied easily. Overall, I love it and would recommend to any mom of a little girl or actually for yourself. I ordered the nail polish remover and was surprised by it’s smell doesn’t bother me or isn’t strong.

I ordered a pink color called Wild Child...haha! It’s very fitting for MJ. But it’s a cute summer pink and looks cute on. If you’re wanting a safe nail polish for your little one. Something that’s not too strong and is still actual polish I highly suggest you give Piggy Paint a try. I promise you, you will love it!!

Here’s their info...Enjoy!!

Love and Prayers,

I’m 30...going on 31! Ahhh! We can’t stop time and each year we get older. I have never been one to wash my face every night...I know! I know! It’s expensive and I always fell asleep before remembering. A couple of years ago I started a routine and got in the habit of washing, exfoliating a couple nights a week, and moisturizing. I never found anything that I truly loved putting on my face till a couple of months ago.

My cousin is a consultant for SeneGence. Have you heard of it? It’s known for its long lasting lip color, but oh my!! There’s so much more. I want to highlight three of my top favorite products because they have changed my skin and helped make my routine easier and simple. So, first up is my number one favorite...Climate Control!

Climate Control, it’s known as Gatorade for your face!!! I mean who doesn’t want to hydrate and give moisture to your face. Sign me up! It comes in a decent size bottle and you can use it in the morning before applying makeup or at night with your night routine! It feels amazing and when I put it on in the morning it’s like a wake up to my face. Hello??? Who doesn’t want that!  It starts as a liquid and you shake, shake, shake it, shake, shake it good... haha! No really you have to shake it to activate it. You will notice the difference and then you spray it on your face and neck. It’s my fav! And I HIGHLY recommend it.

Next up is Color Correcting Tinted Mositurizer or CCTM. I am not a fan of a thick foundation. I tried for many years to like it, but my skin hated it and so did I. So, I began wearing tinted moisturizers last summer and found them to be greasy and smelly. Everyone I tried I didnt like and felt like I was wasting money...until CCTM. It is so light weight, not greasy, it feels good on your face, not smelly and it color corrects. It’s a good balance for someone who doesn’t like the feel of foundation but still wants coverage. I LOVE it! Right now, I’m wearing the shade medium, but in the winter I’ll go back to light. But the good thing about these are you can mix them. In the fall I will mix light and medium to get the in between color I need.

Lastly, but not least is Shadowsense. This product can be used all over your face. You can use it as concealer, blush, on your eye lids, for eye liner, and for your eye brows. It’s so versatile. And they have so many different colors to choose from. My favorites are Moca Java Shimmer, Smoked Topaz, Candlelight, and Mulberry. I have a lot more, but those are my go to favs and the ones that I pick up the most.

These three products are always in my daily routine, as long as I’m going somewhere. Haha! If I dont have to leave my house then I’m probably not going to do much to myself. And if I don’t apply anything I usually get asked if I’m sick, tired, or if I’m having a bad day?? Haha! No, I just didn’t feel like getting ready.

So, if your looking at trying some new face products and you need some new skin care techniques or advice head on over to My Beatuy Whims by Anna Grice on Facebook. She is always available to answer questions, has samples and testers available, and she ships! I haven’t been disappointed with anything I’ve tried. I’m not really a lip stick person, but when we go out....”when” being the word to focus on here. Haha! I do like to have some color on my lips. So, lipsense is a great way to go because it stays on and lasts the whole night.

I hope you will try out some products and fall in love like I did. I’m telling you...I was out of climate control for a month and I could totally tell a difference in my face. So, give SeneGence a shot! Here is her link... Tell her I sent you!! You won’t regret any purchase you make. And here is the website for SeneGence  hope you enjoy.

Happy Shopping!

Love and Prayers,

Walmart Pickup

Have you ever wanted someone to get groceries for you or put your groceries in the car? Have you ever been so stressed about going to the grocery store that you just don’t go? Well, Walmart started an amazing thing last year and it truly has been a true blessing to this family.

Walmart pickup!!! It’s the best thing in the world for moms..well honestly people! Haha!! If you haven’t tried it, I don’t know what you’re waiting for. It’s the biggest time saver and you don’t have to take your kids in the store...what??? I know! If you have ever taken toddlers in to shop you know exactly what I’m talking about. The arms are grabbing stuff. They’re hungry (even though they have ate or had snacks). And don’t get me started on the car carts or the little buggies. They never want to stay in the car and if you have ever seen me at price less foods with my kids... oh my! They both have to have a little buggy. We only go there when I’m desperate or if we’ve forgotten something because of this reason. I’m sure we give the people a good laugh while we’re in there. So, you see why I love the pickup so much. It’s an honest struggle to go to the grocery store and not leave with them having ate something out of every box or wanting to open the Cheetos etc. Fun times!

I have never had a bad experience with the pickup. What I do is I make my list throughout the week on the app. I usually go every Monday and I choose my pickup time. Literally, they send me an email and text when it’s ready and I check in to let them know I’m coming. Once I’m there they load my car and I sign and BAM! That’s it!!! It’s so simple. My groceries are in and I’m off. Well, now if only I had help at! ( if only the Walmart employee could come with me..sigh). Totally kidding! They even give you special gifts from time to time or maybe it’s because I do it so much... haha! Who knows! Once you go the first time you are given a welcome bag with lots of freebies and I have also gotten a gift card because I had to wait10 min for them to take an item off and for them to get everything right. And today they gave me free samples of stuff. Thank you, Walmart! I love Freebies!

So, for all those people out there who just dislike grocery shopping or if you have kids and need a less stressful grocery shopping experience I totally encourage you to give it a try. I promise you won’t regret it and if you don’t like it we can’t be friends... totally kidding, but give it a go!
